The Man Repeller

man repeller outfit

Man Repeller –noun: Outfitting oneself in a sartorially offensive way that will result in repelling members of the opposite sex.

Anyone who knows me will know that my style is usually a mix of girly and casual, opting for jeans most days, but injecting some of those girly elements through pink hues and the occasional skirt and dress. My style is anything but this outfit. Printed biker jackets, studded shoes, a dog collar choker (as my dad liked to call it) and of course, all black. Not my usual style but one that I’m more than happy to embrace once in a while. It’s the ultimate man repeller and as much as it saddens me to say it, is the reason that a lot of girls including myself, often avoid such outfits.

My main inspiration for this outfit actually came from this amazing (£10!) Primark printed biker jacket that I picked up in the sale a few weeks ago. It’s the perfect non-leather leather jacket that just adds that little bit extra to an otherwise boring outfit like this one. I have seen it in a few stores still, and there’s quite a few variations so I’d urge you to pop into your nearest Primark and have a look. As the jacket is quite rock and roll, I paired it with my new favourite studded flats (also available in white here) and this bandanna choker from the Megan Mckenna collection for MissPap.

This outfit is out of my comfort zone, and it is one that not everyone is going to like. But there’s some days where I just don’t care what other people think, and if I want to wear a dog collar (thanks dad) and a printed biker jacket, then I will! Who else has those, this is totally not me but I’m going to wear it anyway days? Let me know!
