Today is ‘unofficially’ marked as Blue Monday; the most depressing day of the year. With that being said, none of us want to dwell in those January blues, despite payday seeming so far away and the weather being less than impressive, I’m going to be spending this Blue Monday relaxing and de-stressing. Instead of Blue Monday, it’s #YouMonday and I’m unwinding with my Gemporia Revive Spa Collection*.
The Gemporia Spa Collections are available in three variations; Revive Rose Quartz, Relax Amethyst and Purify Green Aventurine. I chose the Revive Rose Quartz set, admittedly at first because it was pink, but having received and tried the set I know I made the right choice as it smells amazing. Each set contains bath essence, body lotion, shimmer wash, a gemstone candle, a genuine gemstone and a mini lavender pillow. The pillow and gemstone are very cute touches, and the shimmer wash is 100% my favourite from the set, as it left me feeling very mermaid-esque afterwards.
Relax and pamper in a hot bubble bath.
This is one of my favourite ways to relax and unwind and is the best way to really use the Gemporia Spa sets. Light a candle, add some bubbles, pour yourself a glass of wine (or two), turn on the music and just zone out. If your feeling like Blue Monday really is getting the best of you, turn it into a #YouMonday and really pamper yourself.
Read a good book in bed.
This is something I really want to start doing more of and am going to make it my goal to watch less tv and read more books. Reading can be very relaxing and being able to immerse yourself in the world of the characters can really take your mind off any pre-existing January blues. My plan for this evening is actually to do just that, and hopefully to finish a book in enough time to be able to review it on my blog too!
Listen to your calming music.
I personally love listening to music, especially on my own through a good pair of headphones. I recently invested in a pair of Beats after selling an old camera and they are one of my favourite purchases to date. Not only are they extremely Insta-worthy, but they also allow you to completely zone out for the rest of the world and just take some YOU time. My favourite music to listen to at the moment is the soundtrack from The Greatest Showman; if you haven’t watched the film, watch it!
Have a duvet day (or evening).
This one will, of course, depend on if you have the day off, or are lucky enough to work from home. But if not, there’s always the evening. Bring your duvet downstairs, make yourself a hot chocolate with all the trimmings and choose your favourite film or tv series. Then just relax and think of all the good things happening in January or later in 2018. No more Blue Mondays here.
